Rules & Regulations

Eligibility
  • The tournament is open to all players 12 years of age and above.
  • The Ahilyanagar Premier League (APL T20 – 2025) is open exclusively to players who are residents of Ahilyanagar District.
  • Each player must present a valid Government-issued photo ID or School ID prior to every match.
  • A player is permitted to represent only one team throughout the tournament.
  • Players who are currently under suspension or ban by the BCCI or any other recognized cricketing authority will not be eligible to participate.
Tournament Format
  • The tournament will follow the T20 format with matches played using the leather ball.
  • Qualification criteria for the knockout rounds will be announced once fixtures are finalized.
  • League Stage: Each team will play a minimum of 3 matches.
  • Knockouts: Top 6 teams (based on Points & Net Run Rate) will qualify for the Knockouts: Quarter Finals → Semi Finals → Grand Final.
  • Match fixtures/schedule will be released in advance and must be strictly adhered to.
  • Tie-break rules (if teams are level on points):
    1) Higher Net Run Rate (NRR)
    2) Most wins
    3) Head-to-head result
    4) Higher runs scored overall
Team & Player Regulations
  • Each squad may register a maximum of 15 players (11 playing + 4 substitutes).
  • Teams must report at least 60 minutes before the match.
  • Playing XI must be submitted 45 minutes before the match.
  • Any team failing to field 7 players within 30 minutes will forfeit the match.
  • Failure to report on time may result in penalties, as decided by the match officials.
  • All players are required to wear the official APL T20 jersey and track pants provided by the organizers. Players’ jersey numbers and names must be displayed on the official kit.
  • Players who do not adhere to the dress code will not be permitted to play.
Substitutions & Fielding Restrictions
  • Only players named in the playing XI are allowed to bat or bowl.
  • Substitutes (from the 4 reserves) may field in case of injury but cannot bat, bowl, or keep wickets.
  • Only players named in the Playing XI can bat or bowl.
  • Powerplay Rules:
    1) Overs 1–6: Only 2 fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle.
    2) Overs 7–20: Maximum 5 fielders allowed outside the circle.
Match Regulations
  • All matches will be conducted in accordance with the Standard T20 International Rules.
  • Each innings shall consist of a maximum of 20 overs.
  • A minimum of 5 overs per innings is required to constitute a match (except in knockout stages, where a minimum of 10 overs per innings is required, unless decided by a Super Over).
  • In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined through a Super Over.
  • The top six teams, based on the highest Net Run Rate (NRR), will qualify for the knockout stage.
  • The decision of the on-field umpires shall be final and binding in all circumstances.
  • Slow Over-Rate Penalty: Teams failing to complete their overs within the allotted time may be penalized with additional runs awarded to the opposition, and the captain may face suspension.
Prize Money
  • Prize pool of ₹3,87,000+ will be distributed as per categories declared by the Organizing Committee.
  • All payments will be transferred directly to the winners’ registered bank accounts within 10 days after the completion of the league.
  • Any taxes, if applicable, will be deducted at source as per government regulations.
Protests & Appeals
  • Any protest/appeal must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes of match completion.
  • The Organizing Committee’s decision will be final and binding.
Code of Conduct
  • Players and teams are expected to maintain the highest standards of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect for the game and officials.
  • Teams must ensure players use standard safety equipment (helmets, pads, guards) as per cricket norms.
  • Any form of sledging, physical aggression, or abusive language will result in strict action.
  • Use of abusive language, physical aggression, or unsporting behavior will attract strict disciplinary action.
  • Misconduct may lead to suspension, fines, or disqualification.
  • Teams are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and discipline at the venue.
  • Damage to property or misuse of facilities may attract fines or disqualification.
Alcohol, Drugs & Misconduct Policy
  • Consumption of alcohol, drugs, or any prohibited substances before or during the match is strictly banned.
  • Violation will lead to immediate suspension from the tournament.
Medical & Safety
  • Medical staff and hydration facilities will be available at the venue.
  • Players deemed unfit by the medical team will not be permitted to continue playing.
  • Players must use standard safety equipment (helmets, pads, guards).
